Introduction to PHP Here Documents

PHP में here documents long string (text) को represent करने का एक आसान तरीका है। यह long text कुछ भी सकता है। जैसे की यह एक HTML document का code हो सकता है या फिर एक article हो सकता है जिसे आप PHP के द्वारा display करना चाहते है।

यदि general definition की बात की जाय तो एक here document कुछ text होता है जिसे directly एक PHP page के अंदर insert किया जाता है। Here document हमेशा एक token के दो declarations के बीच define किया जाता है। यह token कोई भी word हो सकता है जैसे की END, GO, FINISH, TEXT, EOT आदि।

Here document define करने के लिए आप अपना मनचाहा token इस्तेमाल कर सकते है। यह आवश्यक नहीं है की आप ऊपर बताये गए tokens ही प्रयोग करें।

Here documents की सबसे प्रमुख advantages यह है की आपको किसी भी प्रकार text लिखने के लिए escape sequence characters का प्रयोग करने की आवश्यकता नहीं होती है।

उदाहरण के लिए जब आप एक string define करते है तो उसमें special characters जैसे की single quote, double quote, back slash, dollar sign आदि का प्रयोग करने के लिए आपको escape sequence characters को define करने की आवश्यकता होती है।

लेकिन here document में यदि आप text के अंदर special characters का प्रयोग कर रहे है तो इनको लिखने के लिए आपको escape sequence characters लिखने की आवश्यकता नहीं होगी। आप इन्हें directly text में लिख सकते है। ऐसा करने से किसी प्रकार की error generate नहीं होगी।

इसके अलावा here documents के माध्यम से आप एक long string किसी variable को भी assign कर सकते है। साथ ही आप here documents के अंदर PHP variables को भी include कर सकते है।

आइये अब here documents के syntax के बारे में जानने का प्रयास करते है।

Syntax of PHP Here Documents 

PHP में here documents define करने का general syntax निचे दिया जा रहा है। 

variable = <<<TOKEN
all your long text here…
TOKEN;

जैसा की आप ऊपर दिए गए syntax में देख सकते है here documents को किसी variable को assign किया जाता है। लेकिन आप चाहे तो इसे print या echo language constructs के साथ directly भी use कर सकते है। इसका syntax निचे दिया जा रहा है।

[echo] [print] <<<TOKEN
all your long text here…
TOKEN;

Here document को define करने के लिए सबसे पहले <<< operator define किया जाता है इसके बाद वह token define किया जाता है जिसके बीच text को add किया जाएगा। Token के बाद बिना किसी space के नयी line से text add किया जाता है। Text के बाद वापस token define किया जाता है। Ending token के बाद semicolon से statement को terminate किया जाता है।

Here document के opening token के बाद और closing token से पहले उस line में किसी प्रकार space या कोई दूसरा text नहीं होना चाहिए।
