Physical structure  का परिचय

दो अथवा अधिक machines जो किसी एक link के माध्यम से परस्पर connected होती है एक network का निर्माण करती है network में link communication pathway होता है जो data को एक machine से अन्य machine तक transfer करता है

Type of connection

network के physical structure के आधार पर network connection को निम्नलिखित दो प्रकार में विभाजित किया जा सकता है

  1. point तो point connection
  2. multipoint connection

point to point connection

एक point to point connection दो devies जैसे की एक computer और एक printer के मध्य सीधा link है यह device के मध्य dedicated link का प्रयोग करता है link की सम्पूर्ण क्षमता का प्रयोग इन device के मध्य transmission के लिए किया जाता है आप point to point connection का diagram निचे देख सकते है

अधिकांश point to point connection दो machine को connect करने के लिए वास्तविक length का wire अथवा cable का प्रयोग किया जाता है परन्तु अन्य option जैसे की microwave अथवा satellite link का भी संभव है जब हम infrared remote control की सहायता से टेलीविजन channel को बदलने है तो हम remote control और टेलीविजन के control system के मध्य point to point connection को स्थापित करते है

present में अधिकांश point to point connection modem और public switch telephone network-PSTN के साथ सम्बन्ध है point to point में machine के अलग अलग जोड़े (pair) के मध्य अनेक connection को स्थित होते है

source से destination तक जाने के लिए एक पैकेट अथवा एक short message विभिन्न routes का अनुसरण कर सकता है networking में दो networking nodes में मध्य direct connection को स्थापित करने के लिए सामान्य: एक data link protocols ,point to point protocols का प्रयोग किया जाता है

ppp के दो encapsulated forms –point to point protocols over ethernet-PPP0E और point to point protocols over ATM-PPPoA का प्रयोग आमतौर पर internet service providers के द्वारा customer के साथ digital subscriber line-DSL में internet service connection को स्थापित करने के लिए किया जाता है

multipoint connection

multipoint connection तीन अथवा अधिक devices के मध्य link है इसको multi drop configuration के रूप में जाना जाता है वे network जिनमे multipoint configuration होता है broadcast networks कहलाते है broadcast network में एक message अथवा पैकेट को किसी एक machine से send किया जाता है और network में स्थित अन्य सभी machine के द्वारा प्राप्त किया जाता है

packet में address field स्थित होता है तो receiver को निर्दिष्ट करता है जब network की अन्य machine packet को प्राप्त करता है तो वे packet की address field को जांचती है यदि transmit किया गया packet किसी special machine के लिए है तो वाही इसे process करती है और अन्य machine उसकी अपेक्षा कर देती है जो निम्न लिखित diagram आपको निचे दिया जा रहा है

broadcast network में broadcasting और multitasking के लिए प्रावधान उपलब्ध कराते है broadcasting एक ऐसी process होती है जिसमे एक single packet को network में स्थित अन्य सभी machine के द्वारा प्राप्त और process किया जाता है इसे packet की address field में स्थित special code के प्रयोग संभव किया जाता है

जब एक packet को machine के sub-set अथवा network में कुछ machine को send किया जाता है तो multi tasking के रूप में जाना जाता है distributed dumb terminals को जोड़ने के लिए किया गया आजकल के LAN environment में multi point connection विभिन्न configuration वाली अनेक network devices को link करने के लिए किया जाता है
